UCL’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is a top-ranked Computer Science Department in the UK. The Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC) combines methodological researchers from the Departments of CS and Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering (MPBE) with biomedical and clinical groups in the School of Life and Medical Sciences. The interface of engineering with medicine, where CMIC specialises, is a dynamic and exciting place to do cutting-edge research. CMIC is a world leader in medical imaging research, with particular strengths in artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to healthcare. The candidate will join the Machine-learning, AI, Neuro Imaging Focusing On Longevity and Dementia (MANIFOLD lab, https://manifold.cs.ucl.ac.uk/), led by Prof James Cole, and work closely with the UCL Dementia Research Centre (DRC).

About the role

The role involves working at the Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC), collaborating closely with the Dementia Research Centre (DRC) to work on a large-scale neuroimaging analysis project, using normative modelling to move towards precision medicine for Alzheimer’s and related dementias. The role will involve managing large neuroimaging datasets, running data processing tasks and assisting report preparation, alongside coordinating patient & public involvement/engagement activities. This role is funded until December 2025 in the first instance.

About you
