The Department of Imaging Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary department for neuroimaging excellence. We bring together clinicians and scientists who study higher cognitive function using neuroimaging techniques. Our goal is to understand how thought and perception arise from brain activity, and how such processes break down in neurological and psychiatric disease. The Department studies all aspects of higher cognitive function and develops cutting edge data acquisition and analysis methods.

About the role

We are recruiting a Departmental Administrative Assistant (DAA) to join the department’s wider administrative team, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the department and ensuring that those visiting the department, in particular volunteers taking part in studies, are greeted courteously, helpfully, and professionally.

Based in the Departmental Reception, you will be a key and first point of contact for the Department’s visitors, staff, and researchers. The DAA is a busy, varied, and interesting role that offers the opportunity to gain experience across a wide variety of activities.

About you

You will be educated to A level/NVQ Level IV administration (or have equivalent professional experience) and have prior experience of providing a successful administrative support function and of developing and maintaining manual and electronic filing systems.

You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be resourceful, able to problem-solve, and use your initiative. You will be highly organised and efficient with a professional attitude, willingness to help, and the ability to remain diplomatic and tactful at all times.
