HR Administrator (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 6 Months

Contracting Authority: Department for Business and Trade (DBT)

Location: Hybrid working (2 days per week in London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle or Glasgow office and remaining WFH)

The main duties and responsibilities of the HR administrator would be to:

  • Be the first point of contact for all recruitment queries (internal and external);
  • Draft adverts and ensure job adverts are placed on the relevant advertising websites as appropriate using creativity and initiative to appeal to a wide ranging and diverse audience. Identify suitable recruitment channels;
  • Monitor and maintain all live roles on the recruitment applicant tracking system (iTrent) for both internal and external recruitments
  • Carry out pre-employment checks for new starters; Right to Work in UK, Security Checks and Reference requests, ensuring checks are satisfactory and meet Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS);
  • Issue contracts of employment and/or variation of employment contract letters;
  • Set up new starters on HR System;
  • Ensure HR System (Recruitment) is kept up to date and maintained;
  • Provide support as and when required to managers for recruitment system support.


You’ll have:

  • Proficiency at using IT systems, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel and Office packages;
  • The ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and be proactive;
  • Highly organised, motivated and able to prioritise workload accordingly;
  • Evidence of effective time management and prioritisation skills and using these to successfully deliver outcomes.
  • Experience delivering at Pace
  • Strong communicating and Influencing skills


It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience in HR administration such as issuing letters, contracts and carrying out pre-employment checks;
  • Experience of using an Applicant Tracking System.
