Job description

At Livestock Information Ltd, our mission is to be an outstanding service provider of livestock data, empowering government, industry, and farmers to effectively manage disease and infection control, whilst enhancing productivity and innovation in agriculture. As a HR Assistant at LI, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our People Services Team, and our employees, by being one of the key faces of the business by having positive interactions with our new and existing employees, providing support, and answering generalist queries. You will also ensure our systems are up to date and our source of truth.

This role will also give you the opportunity to work with our team to improve onboarding, enhance key culture moments, and consistently deliver an exceptional employee experience.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Handling employee queries as the initial point of contact, via email and MS Teams.
  • Providing guidance on HR policies and procedures to both managers and employees.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR systems consistently.
  • Assisting with reporting and data requirements from various stakeholders and business areas, as well as supporting finance in payroll inquiries.
  • Administering employee benefits programs, such as pension and life assurance.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Supporting the company during audits and inspections related to HR practices.
  • Promoting positive employee engagement and initiatives for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI).
  • Encouraging participation in company events, team-building activities, and recognition programs.
  • Taking responsibility for administration tasks related to the employee lifecycle.
  • Supporting the team to ensure compliance with legislation regarding right to work and background checks.
  • Collaborating with the Talent team to provide support in recruitment administration, which includes CV screening and interview coordination.
Person specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role in a small to mid-sized organisation.
  • Basic understanding of relevant employment laws, regulations and best practices in the UK.
  • Familiarity with HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of administering employee benefits.
  • Ability to use data to build necessary reports from systems.
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Previous experience in full employee life cycle administration and management
  • Previous experience in administrating learning and development systems and courses.
  • Previous experience in supporting Talent in recruitment (including screening CVs and coordinating interviews).
  • CIPD level 3 qualified (or currently working toward and nearing completion)

Selection process details
